Steel Shot S70-S780 | High-carbon steel spherical abrasive, hardness HRC 40-50, SAE J827/ISO 11124 compliant. For shot blasting, shot peening & surface preparation. 0.2-3.0mm full range, annual capacity 50,000 tons, ISO 9001/14001/45001 certified.
Our steel shot is manufactured from high-quality scrap steel through advanced atomization technology. It features uniform hardness, precise spherical shape, and excellent durability — lasting 3-5× longer than standard cast steel shot with 30% lower dust emissions. Spherical particles allow multiple recycling cycles, delivering significantly lower total cost than non-metallic abrasives.
Applications
Core Technical Advantages
Secondary Quenching Process
After primary centrifugal quenching, we apply a second hardening cycle. This creates a denser microstructure, significantly inhibiting carbon deviation. The result: 1.3× longer service life, lower breakage rate, less dust, better elasticity and faster cleaning speed.
Microparticle Steel Shot
Microparticle Series Applications — Core features: ultra-fine particle size, gentle impact force, deep penetration into narrow gaps and micro-holes, and exceptionally smooth surface roughness. Ideal for precision shot peening, micro-deburring, thin-walled part finishing, and fine internal cavity cleaning. Not suitable for heavy rust removal or roughening. Increasingly adopted in the robotics industry in recent years.
Manufacturing Process
8-step controlled production — from raw steel to finished abrasive media, every stage is engineered for consistency.
Smelting
Electric Arc Furnace
Adjust steel composition to reduce harmful sulfur and phosphorus content.
Refining
Ladle Refining
Further purify molten steel to ensure superior material quality.
Granulation
Centrifugal Casting
High-speed centrifugal forming controls shape quality and minimizes physical defects.
Selection
Defect Separation
Remove hollow or deformed particles to improve shot density and uniformity.
Quenching
Secondary Hardening
Double quenching refines grain structure, enhancing toughness and inhibiting carbon deviation.
Tempering
Precision Heat Treatment
Precise temperature and time control achieve optimal hardness uniformity across batches.
Crushing
Grit Production
Unique crushing process improves grit fullness and angularity while minimizing internal cracks.
Fine Sieve
SAE J444 Grading
Precision screening guarantees every batch meets American SAE-J444 standard.
